The feminine energy is known for its power and divinity all through the Hindu/Vedic scriptures. The Das Mahavidyas encompass the 10 different forms of the Divine Mother-Shakti, where Dus/Dasa means ten, and the words Maha refers to great and Vidya refers to knowledge.

The rise of Mahavidyas represents an important turning point in the History of Shaktism as it marks the rise of Tantras during the post- Puranic era.

Out of many of the tantrik puja and sadhanas, the worshipping and showing devotion to the ten powerful forms of tantra goddess is called Dus Mahavidhya.

Whether one seeks worldly boons or spiritual enlightenment, the Mahavidyas are the answer to both.

Each Goddess has her own unique qualities and significance.
